Colts taking on Chagers in NFL Playoffs

admin  2008-12-29 21:19

The Indianapolis Colts are once again headed to the Playoffs after a great game at the Jacksonville Jaguars sealed their fate as a #5 seed. They will now take on the San Diego Chargers in San Diego, even though the Colts have a better record. Its kind of ridiculous to have to play away even though we have a better record, but thats the way the rules are. The Chargers get to sell Colts Chargers playoff tickets instead of us since they won their division. Don't forget to get your Colts playoff tickets if you can make it out there.

Against the Jaguars, the Colts played a great game and have looked very sharp going down the stretch. Not many teams are going to be looking forward to facing these guys, especially with Peyton Manning looking as sharp as he has.

The Colts trailed 24-14 entering the fourth quarter, but they were able to put it together when it mattered most. "Peyton Manning was unbelievable. He put a lot of it on his shoulders, kept us in there, made some things happen and then our defense made some plays," Dungy told the Indy Star. Colts Coach Tony Dungy is the first coach since the NFL AFL merger in 1970 to take the team to the playoffs 10 times in a row, dating back to 1999 when he was with Tampa Bay.

With the win the Colts lock up the AFC's # 5 playoff seed. The colts are t first NFL team ever to win 11 games or more in six consecutive seasons. The Colts looked like they were down for the season earlier, as they had a losing record at 3-4. These guys have pulled of one of the biggest end-season runs ever, and look like they could make plenty of noise in the NFL playoffs.

"We've got the playoffs underneath the Christmas tree," Colts owner Jim Irsay Told the INdy Star. "That's really special to fight back from 3-4 and be in the playoffs for the seventh year in a row and to get it done the way we have," he said.

The Colts take on the Titans this weekend, then will face the fourth seed on either Jan 3 or 4.

The Colts are 8-1 when the final score is less than seven points or fewer. They include six of their current eight-game streak.
